Pam mae diogelu ac amddiffyn plant yn bwysig?

Why is safeguarding and child protection important?

Mae gan bob plentyn yr hawl i gael eu hamddiffyn rhag camdriniaeth, esgeulustod, a thrais ac mae gan lawer o sefydliadau ddyletswydd statudol i ddiogelu a hyrwyddo lles plant a phobl ifanc. Mae llwyddiant yn dibynnu ar gydweithio rhwng nifer o asiantaethau gwahanol a chydnabod bod lles plant wrth wraidd yr hyn a wnawn. All children have a right to protection against abuse, neglect, exploitation and violence and many organisations have a statutory duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people. A successful approach requires multi- agency collaboration and a recognition of child well being at the heart of wat we do.

Mae Amddiffyn a Diogelu Plant yn flaenoriaeth i bawb yn ysgol Llandudoch. Yn nerbynfa ein hysgol mae hysbysfwrdd yn rhannu gwybodaeth am ein protocolau diogelu a ffotograffau o’r aelodau hynny o’r staff sydd â gofal Diogelwch plant, sef  yr Arweinydd Diogelu a’r Uwch Arweinydd Penodedig.Child Protection and Safeguarding are a priority to everyone at Llandudoch school. In the reception of our school there is a notice board which shares information regarding our safeguarding protocols and photographs of the members of the staff who is the Safeguarding Lead or the Designated Senior Lead.

Yn ysgol Llandudoch ein blaenoriaeth yw’r plant, ac mae eu lles yn hollbwysig i ni. Mae’r holl staff wedi derbyn hyfforddiant Diogelu sy’n orfodol ac maent yn hyderus wrth ymdrin â gweithdrefnau diogelu. Mae athro dynodedig diogelu’r ysgol yn arwain trafodaeth gyda chydweithwyr proffesiynol, yn ogystal ag asiantaethau perthnasol, megis Iechyd neu Wasanaethau Cymdeithasol. Yn dilyn y trafodaethau hyn, efallai y bydd yn rhaid iddynt gyfeirio’r plentyn yn swyddogol i’r Adran Gwasanaethau Cymdeithasol, yn unol â chanllawiau a phrotocol y Sir. Y Gwasanaethau Cymdeithasol sy'n gyfrifol am benderfynu a oes angen iddynt weithredu ai peidio. At Llandudoch school our priority are the children, and their welfare is paramount to us. All staff have received Safeguarding training which is mandatory and are confident in dealing with safeguarding procedures. The school’s safeguarding designated teacher leads discussion with professional colleagues, as well as with relevant agencies, such as Health or Social Services. Following these discussions, they may have to officially refer the child to the Social Services Department, in accordance with the County’s guidelines and protocol. The Social Services are responsible for deciding whether they need to act or not.

Oherwydd natur rhai honiadau, nid yw bob amser yn briodol i drafod materion gyda'r rhiant cyn cyfeirio plentyn. Y Gwasanaethau Cymdeithasol a'r Heddlu sy'n gyfrifol am ymchwilio i'r honiadau.Due to the nature of some allegations, it is not always appropriate to discuss matters with the parent before referring a child. The Social Services and the Police are responsible for investigating into the allegations.

Bydd yr ysgol yn dilyn polisi a gweithdrefnau Cyngor Sir Penfro os gwneir honiad am aelod o staff.The school will follow Pembrokeshire County Council’s policy and procedures should an allegation be made about a member of staff.

Rheoli Ymddygiad Behaviour Management

Er mwyn helpu plant i reoli eu hymddygiad eu hunain, mae angen i ni sefydlu ffiniau clir yn ymwneud ag ymddygiad  sy’n dderbyniol ac annerbyniol. Mae'n hanfodol bod pob aelod o staff a rhieni yn cydweithio i weithredu'r strategaethau  mewn modd cyson fel bod pob plentyn yn cael eu galluogi i ddatblygu ymddygiad cadarnhaol.

To help children manage their behaviour, we need to establish clear boundaries related to acceptable and unacceptable behaviour. It is essential that all staff members and parents work together to operate this strategy consistently so that all children are enabled to develop positive behaviour.

Yn Llandudoch mae gennym ddisgwyliadau uchel o ymddygiad disgyblion ac rydym wedi creu ein Polisi Ymddygiad i adlewyrchu hyn. Mae ein holl systemau a gweithdrefnau yn cael eu datblygu i alluogi disgyblion i fod y gorau y gallant fod.

At Llandudoch we have high expectations of pupil behaviour and have created our Behaviour Policy to reflect this. All our systems and procedures are developed to enable pupils to be the best that they can be.

Mae sicrhau ymddygiad cadarnhaol o fewn y dosbarth yn gyfrifoldeb pob athro. Mae'n hanfodol bod ffiniau cyson yn cael eu sefydlu a'u hatgyfnerthu o'r dechrau. Bydd sancsiynau cyson yn cael eu rhoi ar waith i helpu i atgyfnerthu'r ffiniau hyn.Ensuring positive behaviour within the classroom is the responsibility of each teacher. It is vital that consistent boundaries are established and reinforced from the beginning. Consistent sanctions will be put in place to help reinforce these boundaries.

Mae awyrgylch tawel a pharchus mewn ystafell ddosbarth yn arwain at ddysgu effeithiol. Dylai athrawon a staff cymorth, fodelu ymddygiad cadarnhaol bob amser trwy’r ffordd maent yn  siarad ac yn ymddwyn at ei gilydd ac at y plant.A calm respectful atmosphere in a classroom is conductive to effective learning. Teachers and support staff should always model positive behaviour by the way they speak and behave to each other and to the children. 

Mae'n hanfodol bod y ffocws ar y plant hynny sy'n dangos ymddygiad cadarnhaol yn hytrach nag ar ymddygiad negyddol. Fodd bynnag, os bydd plentyn yn dangos patrwm cyson o ymddygiad annerbyniol, yna cyfeirir y disgybl at y Pennaeth a hysbysir y rhieni.

The focus must be on those children who display positive behaviour rather than on negative behaviour. However, if a child shows a recurring pattern of unacceptable behaviour, then the pupil will be referred to the Headteacher and the parents will be informed.

Gwrth Fwlio /Anti-Bullying

Mae gan bob ysgol ddyletswydd gofal dros ddisgyblion a staff fel ei gilydd ac i’r perwyl hwn mae Ysgol Llandudoch yn ymdrechu i greu amgylchedd diogel a hapus, gan gredu bod pob bwlio yn annerbyniol, boed yn y cartref, yn yr ysgol yn y gwaith, yn y gymuned leol ac yn gymdeithasol. 

All schools have a duty of care for pupils and staff alike and to this end Llandudoch School strives to create a safe and happy environment, believing that all bullying is unacceptable, whether at home, at school, at work, in the local community or when social networking.

Teimlwn y dylai'r ysgol ddarparu lle diogel, gofalgar a hapus i blant ddysgu ac i oedolion weithio ynddo. Prif amcan ein polisi yw sicrhau bod aelodau o gymuned yr ysgol yn glir ynghylch eu rolau a’u cyfrifoldebau a sut i reoli digwyddiad o fwlio os yw’n digwydd.

We feel that school should provide a safe, caring, and happy place for children to learn and for adults to work. Our policy’s primary objective is to ensure that members of the school community are clear about their roles and responsibilities and how to manage a bullying incident if it occurs.

Dylai rhieni sy’n pryderu y gallai eu plentyn gael ei fwlio, neu sy’n amau ​​bod eu plentyn yn cyflawni’r bwlio, gysylltu â’u hathro dosbarth ar unwaith er mwyn medru mynd i’r afael â pherthnasoedd anodd yn yr ysgol. Dylid cytuno ar gamau gweithredu yn y cyfarfod hwn a rhoddir adborth i rieni ar y canlyniad. Dylid cysylltu ymhellach os nad yw'r ymddygiad wedi gwella.Parents who are concerned that their child might be bullied, or who suspect that their child may be the perpetrator of bulling should contact their class teacher immediately in order that difficult relationships in school can be addressed. Actions should be agreed at this meeting and parents will be given feedback as to the outcome. Further contact should be made if the behaviour has not improved.

Anogir pob plentyn i roi gwybod am bob math o fwlio, boed gan blentyn arall neu oedolyn. Y gobaith yw, trwy adrodd am y broblem,  hwn fydd y cam cyntaf i rymuso'r dioddefwr i oresgyn y bwlio trwy'r camau diffiniedig a fydd wedyn yn cael eu rhoi ar waith.All children are encouraged to report all forms of bulling, whether carried out by another child or adult. The hope is that by reporting the problem this will be the first step in empowering the victim to overcome the bullying through the defined stages that will then be put into action.

Mae gan holl gymuned yr ysgol gyfrifoldeb ar y cyd i sicrhau eu bod yn ystyriol o’i gilydd ac yn parchu gwahaniaethau ei gilydd.All of the school community have a collective responsibility to ensure that they are considerate towards one another and respectful of each other’s differences.

PREVENT

Fel ysgol rydym yn cydnabod y gall eithafiaeth a chysylltiad i ddeunyddiau a dylanwadau eithafol fod yn niweidiol i blant ac felly dylid mynd i’r afael ag ef fel pryder diogelu fel nodir yn ein polisi. Rydym hefyd yn cydnabod os methwn â herio safbwyntiau eithafol, ein bod yn methu ag amddiffyn ein disgyblion.As a school we recognise that extremism and exposure to extremist materials and influences can lead to poor outcomes for children and so should be addresses as a safeguarding concern set out in our policy. We also recognise that if we fail to challenge extremist views, we are failing to protect our pupils. 

Mae addysg yn arf pwerus yn erbyn hyn. Felly, rydym yn darparu cwricwlwm eang a chytbwys, a ddarperir gan weithwyr proffesiynol medrus, fel bod ein disgyblion yn tyfu mewn dealltwriaeth ac yn datblygu’n fwy oddefgar o wahaniaeth ac amrywiaeth a hefyd i sicrhau eu bod yn ffynnu, yn teimlo eu bod yn cael eu gwerthfawrogi ac nad ydynt yn cael eu gwthio i’r cyrion. Bydd hyn bob amser yn cael ei herio gan staff a'i nodi.Education is a powerful weapon against this. Therefore, we provide a broad and balanced curriculum, delivered by skilled professionals, so that our pupils are enriched, they understand and become tolerant of difference and diversity and also to ensure that they thrive, feel valued and not marginalised. Furthermore, at Llandudoch school we aware that young people can be exposed to extremist influences or prejudice views from an early age which emanate from a variety of sources and media, including via the internet and at times pupils may themselves reflect or display views that may be discriminatory, prejudiced or extremist, including using derogatory language. This will always be challenged by staff and noted.

• Ymdrechion i orfodi safbwyntiau neu arferion eithafol ar eraill.

• Anoddefiad i wahaniaeth, boed yn seciwlar neu grefyddol, rhyw, anabledd, homoffobia, hil, lliw, neu ddiwylliant.

• Ysgolion partner, gwasanaethau awdurdod lleol, a'r heddlu yn adrodd am faterion sy'n effeithio ar ddisgyblion mewn ysgolion eraill.

As part of the wider safeguarding responsibilities school staff will be alert to:

• Disclosures by pupils of their exposure to extremist actions, views, or materials.
• Graffiti symbols, writing, or artwork promoting extremist messages or images.
• Pupils accessing extremist material online, including through social networking sites.
• Pupils voicing opinions drawn from extremist ideologies and narratives.
• Use of extremist or hate terms to exclude others or incite violence.
• Attempts to impose extremist views or practices on others.
• Intolerance of difference, whether secular or religious, gender, disability, homophobia, race, colour, or culture.
• Partner schools, local authority services, and police reports of issues affecting pupils in other school settings.

Bydd ein hysgol yn dilyn yn agos y drefn gytunedig a osodwyd gan Gyngor Sir Penfro ar gyfer diogelu unigolion sy’n agored i eithafiaeth a radicaleiddio.Our school will closely follow the agreed procedure set out by Pembrokeshire County Council for safeguarding individuals vulnerable to extremism and radicalisation.

Iechyd a Diogelwch /Health and Safety

Yn ysgol Llandudoch, rydym yn cymryd iechyd a diogelwch pob disgybl, aelod o staff a chymuned yr ysgol gyfan o ddifrif. Fel ysgol rydym wedi gweithio’n galed iawn i sicrhau bod yr holl systemau, polisïau a gweithdrefnau yn effeithiol ac yn cael eu dilyn yn drylwyr. At ysgol Llandudoch, we take health and safety of all pupils, staff members and our whole school community very seriously. As a school we have worked very hard to ensure all systems, policies and procedures are effective and followed rigorously. 

Detailed below are some of the measures undertaken by school to ensure health and safety is a priority for all.

• Health and Safety discussions with Governors
• Health and Safety monthly inspections by the designated school lead and caretaker.
• Whole school fire testing, which is inspected externally.
• Clear Fire Evacuation Procedures and Fire Evacuation Plans for those who may need them.
• Clear signing-in procedures staff identification badges and fobs
• DBS checks
• Regular fire drills
• Ensure that there is a consistent approach to planning trips and visits whereby risk assessments are completed, and consideration is given to, staff pupil's rations, children with SEN, health needs, and transport requirements.
• Purchase equipment and materials that are safe and suitable for intended use.
• Ensure that prompt and efficient maintenance of equipment is in safe working order.
• Report all major accidents on the school premises to the Head Teacher.

Lles Meddwl ac Iechyd/ Mental Health and Wellbeing

Fel ysgol iach rydym yn hybu iechyd a lles ein holl ddisgyblion yn yr ysgol. Rydym yn deall yn iawn y rôl sydd gennym i helpu plant i lwyddo a’u cefnogi i fod yn wydn ac yn iach yn feddyliol. Rydym yn ymwybodol y gall plant brofi ystod o ddigwyddiadau hapus a thrist trwy gydol eu cyfnod yn yr ysgol. Mae staff yn sensitif ac yn fedrus wrth weithio gyda phlant a allai fod wedi profi colled neu wahanu, newidiadau bywyd fel symud tŷ, genedigaeth brawd neu chwaer a digwyddiadau o natur drawmatig.

As a healthy school, we promote the health and wellbeing of all our pupils in school. We fully understand the role we have to help children succeed and support them to be resilient and mentally healthy. We are aware that children can experience a range of both happy and sad events throughout their time at school. Staff are sensitive and skilled at working with children who may have experienced loss or separation, life changes such as moving house, the birth of a sibling, and events of a traumatic nature.

Yn ysgol Llandudoch mae gennym ddwy ELSA profiadol sydd wedi’u hyfforddi’n llawn ac sy’n gallu cefnogi plant drwy ddigwyddiadau yn eu bywydau. Ein nod yw gweithio'n agos gyda rhieni, gofalwyr a gweithwyr proffesiynol eraill i sicrhau ein bod yn darparu ymyriadau amserol i ddiwallu anghenion iechyd metel.At Llandudoch school we have two fully trained and experienced ELSA’s who can support children through the ups and downs of life. We aim to work closely with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure we provide timely interventions to meet mental health needs.
